When Jo Fellowes moved to France and left behind her classroom career, she knew she didn’t want to leave behind her love of teaching art. But she also didn’t want to recreate the traditional model.
She wanted to build something better—more creative, more flexible, and more focused on real fine art skills for children aged 10 and above.
That’s how the Arts Instruct Creators membership was born.
"It felt like an easier way for me to create and design online art levels that had more complexity than if I was trying to teach them during a live lesson."
With most online art resources for children focusing on craft projects or simple worksheets, Jo saw a gap—and created something that feels more like a structured, skill-building art course than a YouTube rabbit hole.
What’s Inside Arts Instruct Creators?
Each month, members get access to a beautifully designed project, broken down into mini lessons between 2–10 minutes long, along with:
✅ A downloadable materials list and step-by-step instructions
✅ A self-evaluation handout tailored to each project
✅ Mini technique lessons (like colour theory, shading, or tracing properly)
✅ Project-specific worksheets
✅ The chance to upload their finished artwork to Jo’s online gallery on Artsonia—where she gives individual feedback
This isn’t passive learning. Jo’s lessons are designed to build confidence, technique, and creativity—and help kids feel truly proud of their work.
How She’s Growing It (One Connection at a Time)
Right now, Jo is:
📌 Sharing free resources on Facebook and Instagram
📧 Growing her email list of interested parents
🤝 Starting a collaboration with a Design Technology teacher to explore cross-subject learning
She also launched with a free art guide for parents of 11–14 year olds—positioning herself as a valuable, trusted source from day one.
Lessons Learned Along the Way
Jo’s biggest challenge?
"I’ve had to learn systeme.io from scratch, but I’m super proud of the platform I’ve built. It gives me so much flexibility and freedom."
She’s also diving deep into SEO and visibility so she can connect with more of the right families.
"I’m proud of the business I’ve created that allows me to teach art without the constraints and bureaucracy of the classroom."
What’s Next?
Jo’s membership is in its early stages, with her first member already on board and everything in place to welcome more.
And her plans are exciting:
Turn it into an evergreen art school for children
Add monthly live group tuition where students can share and ask questions
Expand into GCSE and A-Level prep, building on her 1:1 student support
Explore a primary version of the membership through partnership
Final Thoughts
Jo has created something quietly brilliant—a thoughtful, skill-based art membership for children that nurtures talent, creativity, and confidence from home.
"I love teaching art and I love creating new content. I think I offer great value for parents who are trying to teach art at home."
She may be early in her membership journey, but her passion and platform are solid—and Arts Instruct Creators is ready to grow into something truly special.
