From One-Off Training Sessions to a Loyal Club of 74 Members—and Counting
Some memberships are built for quick wins. Others are designed for deep, lasting transformation. Tracey McLennan’s is the second kind.
Based in Scotland, Tracey runs Best Dog Learning and Stuff Ltd, where she supports owners of high prey drive dogs - those determined, excitable dogs that love to chase everything that moves. Her clients were struggling with behaviour most trainers wouldn't touch, and she knew they needed more than a one-off training plan.
So she launched The High Prey Drive Club, a long-term, high-support membership that helps people train their dogs over time, with real, sustainable results.
What’s Inside The High Prey Drive Club?
Tracey offers two versions of her membership:
VIP Membership
Monthly masterclass + downloadable worksheet
Personalised advice via a private members’ area
Two live coaching calls per month
Video feedback and Q&A support directly from Tracey
Essentials Version
Monthly masterclass + worksheet
One Q&A call per month
Great for owners just getting started
With 74 members and counting, her membership is proving that even the most misunderstood dogs can thrive with the right guidance, and the right trainer.
Why Tracey Created the Membership
“I love to work with people over a longer period of time,” says Tracey. “The work I do benefits from that consistency. The membership allows me to really get to know the owners and their dogs, and help them make changes that stick.”
And it’s working.
One former member rejoined recently and shared that her results have lasted long after she left. That’s the kind of transformation Tracey is proud of.
How She Launched (and Grew) It
Tracey kicked things off with a founder launch on Facebook and email, offering a lower-cost rate to early joiners. She now grows her membership using:
A free course + email funnel
Free Zoom events
Consistent emails and content on Facebook and Instagram
Low-cost services to let people experience working with her
She’s clear, strategic, and consistent, exactly what you’d expect from someone who trains dogs for a living!
Challenges & Lessons Learned
Early on, Tracey struggled to get members using her private member’s area. People were sending videos by email, Messenger, Facebook group posts - it was chaos.
So she trained her members like she trains dogs with consistency and clear expectations. “Now I always mention the member’s area in the onboarding and direct people there. I check it twice a day Monday to Friday and make sure nothing gets missed.”
Perfect.
She also admits to one regret: offering discounted rates. “I wouldn't do that again. It devalues the membership, and since my membership runs for a year, those discounts hang around for a long time.”
What She Loves Most
“The relationships. The results. The fact that my members are working on something most people think is impossible, and succeeding.”
Tracey’s pride in her work shines through. She’s not just offering dog training, she’s giving people hope, tools, and a supportive place to make real change.
Membership Income & Future Goals
Right now, The High Prey Drive Club brings in around £2,000 per month, though this varies. Tracey has bold, exciting goals:
“I’d love to grow the VIP version to 100 members and the lower-cost version to 900.”
And with the strong foundation she’s built, she’s well on her way.
