How Allegra Gee is Creating a Judgment-Free ADHD Community That Just Gets It

From an Idea to a Thriving, Supportive Space for Adults with ADHD

Allegra Gee knew that adults with ADHD—diagnosed or not—often feel like they don’t quite fit in traditional spaces. That’s why she created ADHD Unmasked, a pressure-free, fully moderated community where neurodivergent adults can be themselves, find accountability, and connect without judgment.

Now, with 17 members and growing, ADHD Unmasked is already proving to be a safe haven where members can share experiences, celebrate wins, and get the support they need—without pressure, shame, or stigma.

"Because I’ve loved being part of the membership, it’s a joy to run."

What’s Inside ADHD Unmasked?

Unlike ADHD Facebook groups that can feel overwhelming or chaotic, ADHD Unmasked is a structured but low-pressure space, offering:

Accountability & Body Doubling – Helping members stay on track.
An RSD Room – A safe place to process Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria.
A Hyperfixation Dump – A fun, judgment-free way to share obsessions.
An Everlasting Story Thread – Members contribute one sentence at a time, building an ongoing narrative together.
A Monthly Exclusive Online Magazine – Free to members, featuring relatable ADHD content.

It’s a community designed by someone who gets ADHD, ensuring it works with members’ brains instead of against them.

Growing a Membership for an Audience That Forgets to Log In

One of the biggest surprises Allegra discovered? People with ADHD need reminders—even for things they want to do.

"People often forget about the community and are grateful for reminders to pop in. It’s not harassing them—it’s understanding that we forget, even if we really want to do something."

This has shaped how she supports members:

Gentle Reminders – She checks in with members who haven’t logged in for a while, and they always appreciate it.
Following Up on Abandoned Sign-Ups – When people forget to finish signing up, she reaches out—and they’re always thankful.

Building ADHD Unmasked—One Step at a Time

While it’s still early days, people staying on after their free trial is the best sign of success.

“I’ve had a couple stay already, and a couple more have said they will. Also, when I see the analytics and people have been signing in—even if they’re just lurking—that’s great feedback.”

Her biggest challenge? Helping potential members realize that another community won’t just be another distraction.

“People think they don’t have time or that they’ll get distracted. But ADHD Unmasked is built to help with that. We’re here for accountability and support.”

What’s Next for ADHD Unmasked?

Right now, Allegra is focusing on making the community a no-brainer to stay in. She’s also emailing members before their trial ends—not just to check in, but to remind them to cancel if they don’t want to continue.

"ADHD Tax is a huge thing. I don’t want people to stay just because they forgot to cancel. I want them to stay because they love it."

With an early-stage but growing membership, Allegra is building a space that is:

Heartwarming
Funny
Supportive

"I love it when someone posts and other members reply with encouragement, so I can take a step back. That’s when I know it’s working."
